Boundary Lines

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:12

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Jesus talks about the last days and says in those days the love of many will grow cold. We talk about how the world is getting worse and some are confused as to why but the Lord tells us what to expect. He gives us a list of what to look out for but the most powerful to me is the love that will grow cold. Family members, friends, neighbors, spouses, children, co-workers etc all are turning against one another. People are keeping a record of wrongs and once you’ve crossed the imaginary line of toxicity you’re cut off from them.

Don’t misunderstand me. God gives us wisdom but God also gives us grace. Jesus says to forgive someone up to 490 times a day. He wasn’t saying that so we could keep count, He says that so we can lose count. God forgives us according to how we forgive others (Matt 6:14). We’re ALL guilty of something. We could ALL use forgiveness and mercy yet we won’t extend the same courtesy to our family, friends, and even our enemies.

We need to check our love language, myself included. We need to be SLOW to anger. We need to be SLOW to cut people off. Look at the world around you. It’s clear that the world needs a Savior, it’s clear that the world needs Jesus, and it’s clear that the world needs you. You are the key to God’s love shining in this dark world. You are His access point to love others.

Learn to be patient with others. Learn to love others the way you desire to be loved. Extend the courtesy of grace and mercy because you know you need the same. Learn to love how God loves so you can experience peace in your life. Speak His language ❤️
