“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit truth.”

‭‭John‬ ‭4:24‬

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:20‬

This morning I had the privilege of being able to attend and serve at my co-worker’s church. I had a great time but one of the best revelations I had there was about where the Spirit of the Lord is.

Occasionally, the Lord will put it on my heart to go visit another church in the body of Christ. I’ve attended large churches and small churches (smaller churches being my favorite🙌🏾, but I love you all equally) BUT the component I always search for is the Holy Spirit. I ask the Lord, “Lord, are you here this morning?” And if not, I invite him in, so long as He welcome.

Every time I go to my sister churches, I realize more and more that God cares less about the cooperate gathering as He does about the condition of His people. He could care less about a full band and choir and lights if it means there’s a hurting congregation that aren’t experiencing the power of God’s love, healing, and forgiveness. God could care less about the hollering and running around in circles if the goal is to arouse people’s flesh instead of nurturing their spirit.

God is spirit and those who worship Him MUST worship in Spirit and in truth.

Performance and perfection isn’t a requirement for God but PRESENCE is. The Lord doesn’t need much space or a mass audience. He needs people who will humble themselves and welcome Him. He needs people who not only believe in miracles and healing and deliverance but EXPECT it because they’re in the presence of the Living God.

Let’s reevaluate how we both do and EXPERIENCE church as a whole. If it’s at your home, then do it in Spirit and truth. If it’s at your mega church, then do it in Spirit and truth. If it’s at your 100-people, or 20-people, church, then do it in Spirit and truth. Where 2 or 3 are gathered, HE IS IN THE MIDST.
