“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Remember that joy you received when you got saved? You didn’t know everything, if anything at all, about this man named Jesus but the light switch in your dead spirit was turned on by His Spirit and all of a sudden you knew, “I can trust Him.”

You didn’t know all of the scriptures or songs; you didn’t know about the power of prayer or the authority the name Jesus has against the storms of life and the demons that come alongside them. You just knew, “I can trust Him.”

You felt so good that day! You felt free and clean for the first time in your life! You felt a huge load being lifted as you exchanged your old life for the new life in Christ! And then…somewhere along the way…the feeling went away. Somewhere along the way, you got bored. Somewhere along the way, you got hurt. Somewhere along the way, you got doubtful. Somewhere along the way, you stopped trusting in the power and authority of that man named Jesus who used to win your heart.

We all have. But, what if we treated everyday like it’s the first day we got saved? What if everyday we acted as if we’re just meeting this man named Jesus for the first time? What if everyday we woke up discovering the freedom we have in Christ because of what He did for us on the cross?

Let’s not forget who loved us first. Let’s not forget who saved us. Let’s not forget who healed us. Let’s not forget who led us out of the dark places we were all in. Let’s get saved all over again! Let’s rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice! The same Jesus from your salvation is the same God over whatever season you’re in right now. He is the God who was and is and will forever be. Rejoice means “joy again and again.” Let’s carry this spirit of joy with us always as we remember Christ daily. Let’s enter into a restoration of joy ☀️
