“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting , so you can respond to God’s giving . People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Matthew 6:30-33 MSG
I was just thinking, “God, I don’t know where to start…HS help me.”
Matt. 6:33 popped in my spirit. I’ve been catching myself going “I know it already” and learning to question “What DONT I know?” about everything now. Which is good. I remember asking why there are so many translations of the Word of God, why not just one? But as my late grandmother would say, “there’s more than one way to skin a cat.” There are different languages, different cultures, different personalities, different perspectives and the SAME God will reach them uniquely and distinctively. He has promised to meet our every need and understanding His word is something believers NEED to be in sync with. You not only need to know IT or grasp IT, you need to understand how His word applies to every moment, every day. In the good times and in the bad times; when life is fun and when life is flat out boring. I mentioned in my last post how I’d been in a dry place in my relationship with the Lord. My love for Him hadn’t changed, my willingness to serve and obey hadn’t waivered, I was simply bored and needed a refreshing. The Message has been both inspirational and revelational for me because I’m hearing and understanding the HS in a new way. I did some researching and the creator of The Message translation said that it was designed to translate the directness of the Greek and Hebrew texts to a contemporary learner. If you’ve ever studied language, words and meanings can get lost in translation. You might be trying to say “The Cat in the Hat” and the listener might understand “the lion in the beret” and not know what you’re talking about. The awesome thing about God is that though words and meanings change, His Spirit never does. He promises to teach us ALL things. That means not only how IT needs to be taught but how YOU need to be taught, right here, right now in the season you’re in. So, I encourage you. Whatever you need, He has for you. He can teach and show you everything you need to know, if you let Him. Seek Him first…and everything will be added to you.
